Before the month is over, we want to let you know about our Treasurer, Samantha J. Orvis!
What inspired you to become an attorney?
I had a professor in undergrad that went to law school, but was not practicing. She and I had a few discussions before I decided that it would be a good educational challenge for me. I honestly had no idea what being a lawyer truly entailed, since I had no family members or close friends of family in the profession. I just knew I wanted to become a trial attorney.
What sparked your interest in the WBA?
I believe my initial interest was by way of participating in the Women’s Law Caucus while at Wayne Law School. A fellow law student was attending WBA events and meetings, and I decided to join her. They’ve been trying to get rid of me ever since!
